“While I’m rarely inclined to listen to The Byrds anymore, I remember driving back to Brooklyn, enveloped in their chiming guitars, and how—in the wake of my meeting with R—I was filled with relief and regret, sensing that I had witnessed the end of my youth, along with a torment and fear that had for so long defined it, but which in the ephemeral twilight hovering over New York City seemed to evaporate as the day gave way to night.”
Matthew Gallaway | “Hey, Mr. Tambourine Man” [VIA Coming & Crying]
There’s good writing, and then there’s good writing. This story is the latter.

Matt’s story is so, so wonderful. I remember exactly where I was—Tillie’s!—when I read it and emailing him immediately after, waiting for Melissa to come meet me. He has a novel coming out in December, yknow. The Metropolis Case, which you should all pick up OBVS.
